Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Project
Our neighbor, Puget Sound Energy (PSE), recently began major upgrades to the Snoqualmie Falls hydroelectric facility across the way to ensure that the aging energy infrastructure will produce clean, renewable energy to power our surrounding area for generations to come. Built circa 1898-1899 and consisting of two powerhouses, the facility is one of the oldest power-generating operations in the nation and was the first fully underground powerhouse in the world. In addition to the power plant upgrades, PSE is also making substantial enhancements to the Snoqualmie Falls Park and recreation amenities, providing visitors an even richer experience. We are looking forward to the end result, and experiencing the enhanced beauty of the area when the project is finished. During this time, you might see and hear various construction equipment, assorted vehicles, cranes, spotlights and PSE and Barnard Construction employees working hard to improve these historic and important structures. While those might be across the water from the Lodge, you will still be able to see and hear the spectacular Snoqualmie Falls, while taking in the stunning views of the area.
