GIFT SHOP & VISITOR CENTER

In partnership with Salish Lodge & Spa, the Snoqualmie Tribe has renovated the former Falls Gift Shop. To highlight the significance of the Snoqualmie people and their heritage, the old shop has transformed into the Snoqualmie Falls sduk^w albix^w Gift Shop and Visitor Center. The Snoqualmie Falls Gift Shop & Visitor Center experience places emphasis on the Snoqualmie Tribe's history, culture, and people and their stewardship of Snoqualmie Falls as their sacred site. Along with the renovation of the old Falls Gift Shop building, the new Visitor Center features art from Snoqualmie Tribal artists, educational and cultural resources, as well as a café with coffee and locally made pastries, sandwiches, and ice cream for guests to enjoy.

Visitor Center Hours:
Sunday through Thursday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Friday and Saturday: 9:00am - 5:00pm

In addition to educational features and local artwork highlighting the Tribe’s history and culture, visitors can also purchase freshly baked pastries like croissants, scones, galettes and cookies as well as ice cream by the scoop that can be savored at the renovated outdoor space steps away from the Snoqualmie Falls viewing area.

Salish & The Snoqualmie Tribe

The Snoqualmie tribe acquired ownership of Salish Lodge & Spa and the nearby gift shop in November of 2019.

“We truly value and celebrate our relationship with the Snoqualmie Tribe and are honored to be implementing more education around the cultural significance of the Falls to the Tribe,” Salish Lodge & Spa General Manager Alan Stephens said. “It is important for our visitors to learn about the Falls and the Tribe’s greater ancestral lands, and this effort brings that to life in a permanent and meaningful way.”

SACRED LAND

“Over 2 million people travel from all over the world to visit our sacred site each year,” Snoqualmie Tribe chairman Robert M. de los Angeles said. “While they are here, we want to make sure they are aware of how important and sacred this site is to the Snoqualmie people, how we have cared for it since time immemorial, and the need to protect it from continued desecration. It is important that this story is told directly by the Tribe in a way that is authentic and educational, which is what makes this project so exciting.”

It is through education and awareness that individuals can integrate land acknowledgement and respect for the Snoqualmie Tribe into their recreational practices and experiences.
